Following last night’s UFC Fight Night 89 event in Ottawa, Canada, the recipients of the evenings $50,000 bonus awards were announced.
Earning ‘Fight Of The Night’ honors was the crazy three round slug-fest between Steve Bosse and Sean O’Connell. Neither man backed down for a moment here as they traded heavy leather toe-to-toe multiple times over the course of the 15 minute fight. Both men were hurt during the contest, but their chins held out, and in the end it was former hockey enforcer Bosse who earned a unanimous decision victory.
Donald Cerrone produced a virtually flawless performance against Patrick Cote to earn one of the two ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonuses. In the opening round Cerrone landed some slick takedowns, but it was at striking range later on that he’d finish the fight as he dropped his opponent on a couple of different occasions with left hooks, then rocked him again by the same method before putting him down a final time with rapid-fire right hands for the third round TKO finish.
Also earning a ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonus was Krzysztof Jotko who took just 59 seconds to deliver a brutal knockout victory against Tamdan McCrory, flooring him with a hard left hook and then fully relieved him of his senses via hammerfists on the mat.
