British promotion BAMMA have bolstered their ranks with the signing of ex-UFC fighter Andre Winner.
Winner made a name for himself as the runner-up on the USA VS UK season of The Ultimate Fighter reality show, earning himself a place in the UFC. He went on to win his next two fights, but then hit on tougher times, losing his next three on the trot, resulting in him being released last month.
He’s known to be an exciting stand-up fighter though and being British it makes perfect sense for him to join BAMMA’s lightweight division.
“I’m really happy to be coming home and fighting for the very best in Europe. I look forward to putting on a good show for the fans,” Winner said in an official press release.
Winner joins a number of other former UFC fighters who’ve opted to join the British promotion, most notably Nate Marquardt, though others such as former TUF season 8 winner Efrain Escudero and Frank Trigg can also be found fighting for them.
With the ink still drying on his multi-fight deal Winner will be quickly put into action at BAMMA 7 on September 10th when he’ll face Jason Ball.
