BAMMA’s 7th event on September 10th has had an injection of star power today with the news that Paul Daley has signed up to fight Jordan Radev.

Daley is one of the UK’s biggest fighters but has hit upon hard times recently, suffering back-to-back defeats in the Strikeforce cage to both Nick Diaz and Tyron Woodley.

‘Semtex’ has enjoyed better luck with BAMMA however, picking up a KO win over Deep welterweight champion Yaya Shirai back in February.

That fight was originally supposed to be for the BAMMA 170lb title, but Shirai came in overweight and the title was therefore moved from the equation.

While this forthcoming fight with Radev will also be a non-title fight Daley has made it clear that he wants to get the belt around his waist as soon as possible.

“If I have to plow through Radev to get a crack at the belt, then unlucky for him. I can’t wait to be fighting for my U.K. fans again and promise that by the end of the year I’ll be crowned as the BAMMA welterweight champion,” Daley says on the press release issued today.

Like Daley, Radev is also a former UFC fighter though he was unable to make an impact in the promotion during his 0-2 run in 2007. That aside the Bulgarian has enjoyed a successful career, going 23-4 overall and is currently enjoying a four fight winning streak plying his trade mainly for the M-1 organization.

Other familiar faces from the UFC’s past on the BAMMA 7 line-up include Frank Trigg, Efrain Escudero and Andre Winner.
