Bellator 155 took place last nights and we’ve got all the results for you below.

In the main event of the evening, Bellator middleweight champion Rafael Carvalho managed to defend his title against Melvin Manhoef in highly controversial fashion.

There wasn’t a whole lot of action in this five-rounder, but Manhoef seemed to be getting the better of it and was more willing to engage, while Carvalho never really got going and appeared to be fighting dirty, landing several illegal eyepokes and groin strikes, which forced referee John McCarthy to actually stop the fight in the third round to get Carvalho’s cornerman to tell him that he was on his final warning.

By the end of the fight Manhoef undoubtedly had the upperhand, but when it came down to the judges scorecards they somehow saw it differently, with Carvalho earning a split decision victory (48-47 x2, 47-48).

In the co-main event Pat Curran was able to earn a unanimous decision victory over Georgi Karakhanyan (29-28 x3), after dropping his opponent in the first round and controlled him on the mat in the second.

Earlier in the evening, former woman’s Strikeforce bantamweight champion Marloes Coenen suffered an unexpected first round submission loss via a triangle-armbar at the hands of late replacement Alexis Dufresne late in the first round of their encounter, after being taken down early in the round.
