Main Card:

Tom Watson defeats Murilo Rua by KO in Rd3

Watson put on a stunning performance against Rua, showing superior stand-up throughout. He quickly found his range and began mixing his combinations of punches, kicks and knees well. It was the leg kicks in particular that were doing the damage, laying seige to Rua’s lead leg, leaving him wincing and struggling to stand by the end of the second.

Rua showed remarkable grit and determination to keep fighting despite also having been momentarily dropped by a head kick, but in the third he just couldn’t take the enslaught any longer as Watson continued to press forward. A right hook to the temple rocked him followed by a head kick and then a flurry of strikes against the cage after resulted in the knockout as the towel was thrown in by his camp and the referee dived in to stop any further punishment.

Frank Trigg defeats John Phillips By TKO in Rd1

Trigg showed his experience by avoiding Phillips powerful striking and instead quickly taking the fight to the floor. From there the veteran was in complete control and rained down heavy elbows. Before long a huge gash on Phillips forehead opened up leaving him soaked in blood. That forced the referee to call in the doctors who quickly called an end to the fight.

Matt Ewin defeats Ivan Salaverry by unanimous decision

Salavarerry came out of retirement after a three years absence for this bout and it showed. He looked stiff and sluggish throughout and relied on leg kicks and little else offensively throughout the fifteen minutes. Ewin didn’t mix things up too much either and was overly cautious, but showed better hands mixed in with some kicks to claim a comfortable, albeit unexciting victory.
