As far as major MMA events go you’ll be hard pushed to find a better line-up than we’re going to get in February…or at least until March comes around!

Saturday 5th February: UFC 126: Silva Vs Belfort

The action gets underway on Saturday 5th in Las Vegas with what on paper looks like being one of the cards of the year.

A middleweight title fight between Anderson Silva Vs Vitor Belfort headlines the show, which is enough reason to get excited, but there’s also two other main event worthy fights featuring Rich Franklin Vs Forrest Griffin and Jon Jones Vs Ryan Bader to look forward to, making this essential viewing.

Saturday 12th February: Strikeforce: Fedor Vs Silva (Heavyweight GP)

Speaking of essential viewing – you’d better clear your schedule for the 12th as well when Strikeforce’s heavyweight grand-prix gets underway in New Jersey.

It’s an all heavyweight affair for the occasion, with Fedor Emelianenko fronting the show against Antonio ‘Big Foot’ Silva, with Andrei Arlovski Vs Sergei Kharitonov squaring up in the other quarter final.

Friday 18th February: Strikeforce Challengers 14

Just six days after their grand-prix gets underway Strikeforce will be back in action on Showtime with the 14th in their Challengers series.

Lyle ‘Fancypants’ Beerbohm Vs Pat Healy is your main event here, with Ryan Couture, son of the UFC hall-of-famer also on show in his second pro MMA bout against the 2-0 Lee Higgins.

Saturday 26th February: BAMMA 5

This month’s wildcard offering comes from British promotion BAMMA who’ve just secured live TV coverage on SyFY in the UK in time for their fifth event which is shaping up to be their biggest yet.

Strikeforce’s current welterweight No.1 contender Paul Daley is the star of the show here, taking on DEEP champion Yuya Shirai, but also keep an eye out for ex-UFC fighters Ricco Rodriguez and James McSweeney battling it out in the co-main event slot.

Saturday 26th February – UFC 127: Penn Vs Fitch

Saturday 26th also sees the UFC heading back down-under to Sydney, Australia for UFC 127.

The headline act is an intriguing stylistic match-up between BJ Penn and Jon Fitch, with Michael Bisping Vs Jorge Rivera backing it up, and a potential ‘Fight Of The Night’ offering in Carlos Condit Vs Chris Lytle further down the main card.
