Another month of MMA action is almost upon us and after a hectic start to the year the UFC are taking the foot of the gas just a little, while smaller promotions like BAMMA and WSOF step in to ensure there’s something to keep you entertained most weekends in March.

Saturday, March 3rd: UFC On Fuel TV 8: Silva Vs Stann

The action commences this Saturday with the UFC bound for Japan with a solid line-up for their latest Fuel TV live event headlined by Wanderlei Silva Vs Brian Stann which will be fought at 205lbs.

There’s a string of other notable bouts here though, including Stefan Struve Vs Mark Hunt, Diego Sanchez Vs Takanori Gomi and Hector Lombard Vs Yushin Okami.

Thursday, March 7th: Bellator 92

With a lightweight tournament final postponed Bellator 92 now leads with two middleweight semi-final bouts.

That see Brett Cooper taking on Dan Cramer, while Doug Marshall fights Sultan Aliev to establish who’ll move on to the season final.

Saturday, March 9th: BAMMA 12

UK promotion BAMMA returns next weekend for their first event of the year with Bellator veteran Jim Wallhead headlining the show opposite former UFC fighter Matt Veach.

Meanwhile, another UFC veteran Curt Warburton takes a four-fight winning streak into his fight with Scotland’s Steven Ray who’s on a three-fight unbeaten run of his own.

Saturday, 16th March: UFC 158: GSP Vs Diaz

By far the biggest event in March is UFC 158 which features a long-awaited welterweight title fight between Georges St.Pierre and Nick Diaz.

It’s all about the 170lb’ers on this show with Carlos Condit Vs Johny Hendricks also going down which could well establish the division’s next No.1 contender, along with Jake Ellenberger Vs Nate Marquardt.

Thursday, March 21st: Bellator 93

After several delays, Bellator’s season 7 lightweight tournament final goes down at their 93rd event with Dave Jansen taking on Marcin Held to discover who’ll win the $100,000 prize money.

In a tournament final double-bill, Ben Saunders and Douglas Lima will also throw down to see who becomes Bellator’s new welterweight tournament winner.

Saturday, March 23rd: World Series Of Fighting 2: Arlovski Vs Johnson

Outside of the big two promotions the most interesting event of the month belongs to upstart promotion WSOF who recently clinched a TV deal with NBC Sports to broadcast all their events this year live.

That begins with WSOF 2 which is headlined by an intriguing heavyweight clash between Andrei Arlovkski and Anthony Johnson.  It’s also worth looking out for Aaron Simpson Vs Josh Burkman, Paulo Filho Vs David Branch and Tyson Nam vs Marlon Moraes here.

Thursday, March 28th: Bellator 94

The final major MMA action of the month belongs to Bellator 94 who’s line-up remains largely under wraps at this stage, though it is known that it’ll feature the finals of both the season 8 lightweight and featherweight tournaments.
