See below for our predictions for tomorrow night’s WEC 50 event which takes place at The Palms in Las Vegas.

Main Card:

Dominic Cruz Vs Joseph Benavidez

Dominic Cruz emerged victorious in his first encounter with Joseph Benavidez last year, but I like what Benavidez has been doing since that fight and I believe he will come into this fight better prepared to deal with Cruz’s unique style.

It will be difficult for Benavidez to know exactly how well his preparations have worked until he gets into the cage with Cruz though since the champion’s style is so difficult to mimic.  I think he’ll have more success than last time, but ultimately will still come up short against Cruz.

I’m taking Dominick Cruz to win by decision.

Anthony Pettis Vs Shane Roller

This is a very interesting encounter that could establish the next title contender at 155lbs.  It’s hard not to favor the wrestler Shane Roller to get his way here, but Anthony Pettis brings a threat standing and on the ground which should make this a fun fight.

Shane Roller to win by decision.

Chad Mendes Vs Cub Swanson

This is certainly Chad Mendes toughest test to date, up against Cub Swanson who should have the striking advantage here, though it’s his submission prowess which could be his greatest weapon here since Mendes will be looking to use his wrestling to take this fight to the floor and dominate from top control.

I’m taking Mendes to live up to the hype and get the decision victory.

Chad Mendes to win by decision.

Scott Jorgensen Vs Brad Pickett

The UK’s Brad Pickett is a great character and a very game and scrappy fighter, but Scott Jorgensen is on fire at the moment and I think he’ll come out on top in what should be a contender for Fight Of The Night.

Scott Jorgensen to win by decision.

Bart Palaszewski Vs Zach Micklewright

Zach Micklewright is seven fights unbeaten in his MMA career, and I believe his heavy-handed striking could produce a minor upset  here against the more experienced Bart Palaszewski.

Zach Micklewright to win by TKO in Rd2.

Prelims: (Predicted winner in bold)

Maciej Jewtuszko vs. Anthony Njokuani
Dave Jansen vs. Ricardo Lamas
