What’s Next For UFC On FOX 6’s Big Winners?

After a good night of fights at ‘UFC On FOX 6’ we look at what might come next for the main card’s big winners.

Demetrious Johnson:

Truth be told the UFC’s flyweight division is a little thin on title contenders at this moment in time with Johnson now having taken out the three top guys in Ian McCall, Joseph Benavidez and now John Dodson.

Nobody else has really established themselves yet so I think Johnson may be on course for a rematch with the winner of Ian McCall vs Joseph Benavidez which goes down at next week’s UFC 156 event.

Glover Teixeira:

After his biggest win to date over ‘Rampage’, Teixeira indicated that he’s not looking for a title shot yet, but wants to fight again soon.

That’s probably just as well as Jon Jones still has to face Chael Sonnen, and then possibly Dan Henderson if he wins his next fight.

Rashad Evans fights Antonio Rogerio Nogueira next weekend and the winner of that could be a worthy opponent for him in the mean time.

Anthony Pettis:

According to Dana White, Pettis will now be installed as the No.1 contender to face the winner of April’s ‘UFC On FOX 7’ lightweight title fight between Ben Henderson and Gilbert Melendez.

Ricardo Lamas:

With his impressive win last night Lamas is now on a four-fight winning streak at 145lbs and is knocking on the door of a title shot.

Current champ Jose Aldo fights Frankie Edgar at UFC 156 next weekend so timing wise that looks good for Lamas, though I wouldn’t completely rule out a fight with Chad Mendes if he wins later on in February.
