As the dust settles on tonight’s UFC On Versus 6 event we assess who the big winners on the night are likely to face next.
The problem with ‘The Dominator’ is that he’s doing just that in his division and so he’s already beaten many of the top contenders at bantamweight.
His most likely challenger will come via the winner of November’s UFC 139 event when Urijah Faber takes on Brian Bowles, with both men keen to avenge a previous loss to the current champion.
If the UFC wants they could outdo tonight’s record of the biggest height difference in UFC history between Struve and Barry by putting the Dutch giant up against the 5ft 10″ Mark Hunt next.
I’d see that playing out very much like tonight’s fight however, so instead I’d like to see him go up against Brendan Schaub who doesn’t currently have a fight scheduled.
With wins against Dan Hardy and Charlie Brenneman under his belt, Johnson is now reasserting his presence at 170lbs after a long spell of injury woes.
There’s a lot of fights already booked in the upper reaches of the welterweight division at the moment so I am instead going to ignore Thiago Alves recent poor record and choose him, assuming the striker gets past Papy Abedi at UFC 138 in November, as this would be a great striking battle.
Wiman perhaps doesn’t get the credit he’s due for being a very solid lightweight competitor who always puts on a show.
I think a fight with Evan Dunham could prove to be a well matched and entertaining spectacle.
