Tonight Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz avenged his only loss in the last three years to KJ Noons, so where does he go from here?

There’s definitely still some suitable opponents in the Strikeforce roster waiting for the call, in particular two new additions to the 170lb fold in former UFC star Paul Daley and Scott Smith who has now dropped down from 185lbs.

Those two are set to do battle at a Strikeforce even on December 4th and it looks likely that the winner will then go on to fight Diaz for the title.

Elsewhere Evangelista ‘Cyborg’ Santos is making an impression at welterweight after making the switch from middleweight, defeating Marius Zaromskis by first round TKO in his debut in the weight class.

The alternative is for Diaz to move up in weight to fight another of his current rivals, Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller.  There’s plenty of heat behind this grudge match due to the two fighters being at the center of April’s Strikeforce: Houston brawl, and it’s undoubtedly the fight the fans want to see.

Personally I’d opt for the Diaz Vs Mayhem option to take advantage of the hype while it’s still relatively fresh in people’s minds, but I have a feeling that Scott Coker and Co. are secretly hoping that a Diaz Vs Daley title fight comes to fruition first, and I’d certainly settle for that.
