World Series Of Fighting 1 goes down tomorrow night with the prelims airing on and the main card being broadcast live on NBC Sports. Since we’ll be covering the show here’s our predictions for the fights.

Main Card:

Andrei Arlovski vs. Devin Cole

It’s always risky picking Arlovski these days as his chin is highly suspect and he’s produced some very poor performances, but he has had a bit of a confidence boost lately from his performance against Tim Sylvia back in August and Cole has a habit of losing when he comes up against a certain level of competition. I don’t think we’ll see vintage Arlovski, but he’ll do just enough on the feet to win over three rounds.

Andrei Arlovsk to win by decision.

Miguel Torres vs. Marlon Moraes

Torres form has been patchy in the last couple of years, but he’s still a good fighter and could bounce back if his heart is still in it. Moraes isn’t in the same league as the likes of Michael MacDonald and Demetrious Johnson, but he can’t be overlooked, having a solid muay thai background. Torres should have a big advantage on the ground though, and I think he’ll get a finish here.

Miguel Torres to win by submission in Rd2

Anthony Johnson vs.D.J. Linderman

‘Rumble’ has his sights firmly set on a return to the UFC after finally finding stability in the light-heavyweight division. In Linderman he faces an opponent with a relatively solid record and a competent set of skills, but Johnson’s a much more dangerous fighter who’s adapting fairly well to his new weight class and still wields the kind of power to pose him real problems.

Anthony Johnson to win by TKO in Rd2.

Gregor Gracie vs. Tyson Steele

Steele has compiled a nice looking 9-1 record in his career so far, but there’s one problem. So far the vast majority of his wins have come by submission, and that’s going to be difficult to reproduce against a BJJ specialist of Gracie’s caliber. Despite his famous name Gracie isn’t yet the kind of fighter that’s going to strike fear into MMA’s top welterweights, but I think he’ll manage to get the job done here.

Gregor Gracie to win by submission in Rd3.

Tyrone Spong vs. Travis Bartlett

Much like the prediction above, Bartlett is good in one area of the game, but is coming up against someone who’s a specialist in that field. In this case Bartlett is a competent striker with a few stoppages on his record, but in Spong he’s coming up against a world class kickboxer. Spong’s taken his transition from K-1 seriously, taking his time and getting in with a good camp, and I think that’ll pay dividends tomorrow night, particularly since Bartlett hasn’t fought in over two years.

Tyrone Spong to win by TKO in Rd2.
