ProElite has revealed the full fight card for their promotion re-boot event in Hawaii which airs live on following August 27th’s UFC 134: Rio event.

As previously announced the fight card will be headlined by former UFC and Strikeforce fighter Andrei Arlovski who’ll take on Ray Lopez, while TUF season 3 winner Kendall Grove will fight another ex-UFC competitor Joe Riggs in a rematch that’s been over 7 years in the making (Riggs won their original fight in Hawaii by KO).

Another previously confirmed fight sees BJ Penn’s brother Reagan Penn making his MMA debut agains the 2-0 Paul Gardner.

Meanwhile fresh match-ups include the debut of former NCAA wrestling champion Mark Ellis who’s hotly tipped to do well in his new sport.  He’ll take on another newcomer in Jake Heun who’s currently 1-0.  Sticking with the theme of ex-UFC fighters and homegrown Hawaiian talent is Drew McFedries Vs Kala Hose.

In other ProElite news it’s emerged that the promotion plans to host a heavyweight tournament in the future.  While they admit it won’t be on the scale of the current Strikeforce heavyweight GP there are plans to include the likes of Arlovski and Ellis in it alongside a crop of as yet unknown prospects.  One man who isn’t expected to feature is Alistair Overeem who ProElite admit is likely to be out of their price range.

The company does however have it’s eye on another Golden Glory fighter Marloes Coenen however.

Finally, following their Hawaiian event later this month next up will be a show in early November at a destination still to be confirmed.  It is hoped that by the time this show comes around that they will have secured a television deal.
