Strikeforce: Fedor Vs Henderson – Fight Card

Another big Strikeforce event looms large on the horizon, with their Fedor Vs Henderson offering set to be another must-see show on July 30th.

A ‘superfight’ between two long-serving legends of the sport serves as the headliner here as heavyweight superstar Fedor Emelianenko takes on Strikeforce light-heavyweight champion Dan Henderson.

For Fedor this fight is all about restoring his pride and proving he still has what it takes at the very highest level after the first back-to-back losses of his career, while Henderson aims to claim another big-name scalp for his CV and demonstrate once again that he’s got plenty of fight left in him at the age of 40.

Showing strength in depth the card also features a a strong selection of fights to compliment the main offering, with a woman’s 135lb title fight between reigning champion Marloes Coenen and Meisha Tate serving as the co-main event.

This is another finally balanced fight in which we’ll see if Coenen’s submission game can once again overcome another dominant wrestler in Tate.  There’s also added spice to this one with their being some bad blood between the two ladies pre-fight.

Former No.1 welterweight contender Paul Daley is back in action on July 30th for the first time since his war with Nick Diaz, and this time around he’ll be facing the up and coming and still undefeated Tyron Woodley who’s wrestling could pose problems for the former UFC star.

An excellent middleweight scrap between the hard-hitting Robbie Lawler and the well-rounded Tim Kennedy also graces the main card and could be a strong contender for the best fight on the card.

Finally Tarec Saffediene will look to improve upon his 10-4 record when he takes on the always fun to watch Scott Smith who’ll be looking to slug his way to his 18th career victory, and his first at 170lbs.

Main Card:

  • Dan Henderson vs. Fedor Emelianenko
  • Marloes Coenen vs. Miesha Tate
  • Paul Daley vs. Tyron Woodley
  • Tim Kennedy vs. Robbie Lawler
  • Tarec Saffiedine vs. Scott Smith
