UFC 154: Fight Card

This Saturday night the UFC are gearing up for one of their biggest events of the year in Montreal, Canada as Georges St.Pierre finally returns to action at UFC 154.

Unless you’ve been living out in the wilderness for the past few months you’ll probably know all about the main event which sees GSP get back into the Octagon after a 19 month absence to attempt to unify the welterweight title against current interim champion Carlos Condit.

The co-main event could also have a big impact on the 170lb division given that it pits two of the current top contenders Martin Kampmann and Johny Hendricks against each other.

A middleweight match-up pitting Tom Lawlor against Francis Carmont precedes that, with Carmont no doubt hoping to put himself firmly on the map after already having quietly racked up three wins in a row in the UFC over the past year.

After a four-fight winning streak Costa Philippou could also begin making waves at 185lbs if he can get past former TUF competitor Nick Ring.

Finally, Mark Hominick badly needs a win in front of his home fans after coming up short in his last three fights, and he certainly has the skills to do so, though it won’t be easy against Pablo Garza who’s back is also against the wall after a two-bout slump of his own.
