UFC 161: Fight Card

UFC 161 is the next big pay-per-view event on the horizon and it goes down this coming Saturday night, June 15th.

This card has suffered from several injury call-offs, but the main event is still a good one as light-heavyweight stars Dan Henderson and Rashad Evans collide with each keen to get back to the familiarity of the win column after losing out by decision in their previous bouts.

Moving up to the co-main event slot for the show is a heavyweight bout between Roy Nelson and Stipe Miocic. Miocic might not seem the most obvious next step for Nelson, but apparently ‘Big Country’s’ current contract is coming to a close with one fight remaining on it, and with him stalling on signing a new one they had to hastily arrange a bout for him.

The main card includes a female fight with the UK’s Rosi Sexton stepping up in weight for the opportunity to fight Alexis Davis.

Pat Barry is back in action and he’ll go up against Shawn Jordan with both of these heavyweights having claiming a stoppage victory in their last Octagon outings.

Finally a preliminary 205lb fight between Ryan Jimmo and Igor Pokrajac gets shunted up to the main card due to injuries.
