Alexis Davis Announces She’s Pregnant; Intends To Return To Octagon Late 2016

Former UFC woman’s bantamweight title challenger Alexis Davis has announced on social media that she’s pregnant.

“Big news to announce today a slight delay in my return to the octagon!” Davis wrote on Instagram alongside an ultrasound picture. “I planned on spending as much time back home as possible to help with my niece anyways. But we are over joyed by this news and should be expecting our new arrival early 2016!! And planned to back in the Octagon by the end of the year!”

Davis is currently ranked No.3 in the division and is coming off an armbar submission win over former Strikeforce champion Sarah Kaufman back in April. Prior to that she had become another victim of dominant champion Ronda Rousey after being KO’d in just 16 seconds.

The 30 year-old Davis holds a 4-1 record to date in the UFC and in total is 16-7 as a professional, spanning an eight year period.

Despite her high position in the rankings the definitive nature of Davis’ first fight with Rousey means that she wasn’t likely to be back in the title reckoning anytime soon, so perhaps now is not such a bad time for her to take time out and see how the landscape has changed by the time she returns late next year.
