UFC heavyweight star Alistair Overeem has been granted a license to fight again by the Nevada State Athletic Commission after serving a 9 month suspension for elevated levels of testosterone.
At the hearing earlier this week it was revealed that Overeem took five separate drugs test of his own accord during the suspension period which he passed, and also had to undergo a further two administered by the NSAC which he also passed.
Overeem is now cleared to fight Antonio Silva in the co-main event of UFC 156 on February 2nd and a win there is expected to grant him a title shot against Cain Velasquez later in the year.
So Overeem is back, and look out for the return of his long-running documentary series ‘The Reem’ which is also set to get underway again in the coming weeks.
