Good news for fans of Alistair Overeem, the Dutch destroyer has announced plans to continue his highly regarded ‘The Reem’ documentary in 2011.

The original 12 part series filmed last year on an on-going basis, following Overeem as he made a successful bid to defend his Strikeforce title and then conquer the K-1 2010 World GP.

Now, After a meeting with Grossdesigners who did a terrific job on the first season, it seems everybody is on-board to continue the story of the champion at the peak of his career.

“I have some good news; we are going to do the Reem season 2. Had a talk with Eldar Gross and we are ready to work together again!” – Alistair Overeem via his Twitter account.

Overeem later confirmed that the main focus of the second season would be his bid to become the Strikeforce 2010 Heavyweight Grand-Prix champion, which is set to begin in April with a long awaited rematch with Fabricio Werdum.

Stay tuned to as we’ll be posting the various episodes of the next series of ‘The Reem’ as and when they become available. In the mean time check out this recent in-depth interview with Overeem conducted by Michael Schiavello for Versus.
