“Just finished the K-1 drawing, I will fight Tyrone Spong in the first round. Looking forward for this fight!” – Alistair Overeem on twitter.

After a first round demolition of Ben Edwards at the weekend Alistair Overeem will continue his assault on the K-1 Heavyweight GP 2010 finals in December against Tyrone Spong.

Spong, who is also based out of Holland is an accomplished kickboxer with a record of 65-1-1 (1nc) amassed mainly in the European fight scene.

He will certainly be no pushover for the Strikeforce heavyweight champion as he continues his quest to become the first fighter to hold major titles in both MMA and K-1 simultaneously.

If he is successful then he will progress to the semi-finals to face the winner of Gokhan Saki Vs Daniel Ghita.

Meanwhile bouts between Peter Aerts Vs Mighty Mo and Semmy Schilt Vs Kyotaro will decide who takes part in the other semi-final match-up.

The K-1 GP 2010 finals take place on December 11th in Seoul, South Korea.

K-1 GP 2010 Last Eight Fights:
