A previously reported welterweight match-up between Thiago Alves and Martin Kampmann has been confirmed for the ‘UFC On FX 2’ event in March.
While it’s not been established yet it would appear that there’s a good chance this will be the headline bout for the show which as yet does not have an exact date or location.
Kampmann and Alves are two of the 170lb division’s best strikers, and while both have had patchy form in the past year they are each coming off a win and a victory here would re-establish them in the upper reaches of the weight class.
This event will follow on from the first ‘UFC On FX’ show which will go down on January 20th with Melvin Guillard Vs Jim Miller topping the bill on that occasion.
FX will hold multiple events like this in 2012 along with a further four events on FOX and several more on Fuel TV, giving fans access to more free fights than ever before.
