Both Amir Sadollah and Duane Ludwig lean heavily on their muay thai skills in their fights, but who’s actullay the better striker? Tonight we found out at UFC On Versus 5.
On the strength of the first round it was undoubtedly ‘Bang’ Ludwig who possessed the superior muay thai skills, essentially picking Sadollah apart with his varied offense that included good body work, some effective left hooks and upper-cuts plus kicks to the legs and head for good measure.
A left hook appeared to rock Sadollah at one stage, and by the end of the round he looked hesitant to engage and was only utilizing his teep kick in an a attempt to keep Ludwig at bay.
In the second Sadollah continued to come off second-best in ths stand-up and with Ludwig also stuffing his attempts to take the fight to the floor it was turning out to be a bad night.
Ludwig wasn’t able to produce quite as dominant a display as in the first round, but heading into the third there was no doubt about who was in the driving seat.
After his efforts in the first two rounds Ludwig was tiring in the third, but luckily for him Sadollah also appeared to be running low on gas and while he tried to be the aggressor for the five minutes that followed his strikes were labored and rarely troubled his opponent.
And so it was on to the judges decision and Ludwig came out on top by 29-28 on all three scorecards.
