MMA superstar Anderson Silva is continuing to capitalize on his new-found fame in his native Brazil with another major ad deal, this time with Ford.

Wins over Vitor Belfort and Yushin Okami in 2011 for the UFC’s middleweight title holder coupled with the UFC finally returning to Brazil to host an event have lead to Silva becoming one of the region’s most recognized stars and lead to deals with other major brands like Nike and Burger King, appearances in music videos, regular television interviews and bizarrely even an on-stage appearance during a Justin Beiber concert.

Luckily for MMA fans all this attention hasn’t distracted Silva away from the sport that made him famous and the 36 year-old recently vowed to fight on for another six years.

‘The Spider’ was also present at this weekend’s UFC On FOX event where he watched fellow countryman Junior Dos Santos claim the heavyweight title. Initial reports indicated the fight was watched by 60 million fans back in Brazil thanks to a new TV deal with Globo, though that figure was later revised down to closer to 30 million – still a hugely impressive number.
