Anthony Pettis wasted no time in fnishing off Joe Lauzon this evening with a spectacular head kick to get the UFC 144 pay-per-view off to a great start.

After a brief feeling out process on the feet it was straight on to the fight ending moment as Pettis momentairly pawed out with his right hand and then threw a big left kick to the head, and his shin connected cleanly with Lauzon’s chin.

Lauzon folded to the floor, immediately KO’d though Pettis had reeled off a further three ground and pound strikes before the referee swooped in to make his victory official.

Very impressive stuff from Pettis and another terrific kick to add to his highlight reel.

During his post-fight celebrations Pettis was calling for a title shot, and if he can keep putting together wins like this then you can rest assured he’ll get that chance.
