Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson In Beast Mode As Middleweight Debut Approaches

After struggling to make 170lbs for some time Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson has finally taken the decision to step up to the 185lb weight class, and as his debut in the division approaches against Vitor Belfort it would already appear to be paying dividends.

‘Rumble’ is famous for having been a huge welterweight fighter, but judging by the videos below he’s going to be same at middleweight as he’s packed some serious muscle onto his frame and now resembles a 185lb Alistair Overeem.

That’s makes him a daunting prospect for anyone in the division, particularly considering the fact that he’s already one of the UFC’s leading knockout artists, ending four of his bouts by a clean KO along with a further two TKO’s.

The fact that he doesn’t face such a brutal, strength-sapping weight cut the day before the fight will also be a huge bonus for him come Saturday night and means we could potentially see the best ‘Rumble’ Johnson to date.

Of course in Belfort he faces another deadly striker so he’s still got his work cut out for him, but it certainly wouldn’t be wise to count him out of pulling off an upset over the home favorite in Brazil.

Check out the new improved Johnson in the two profile videos below.
