Bellator 103 TV Ratings

Friday night’s Bellator 103 live event drew an average of 539,000 viewers on Spike TV.

That’s down 121,000 viewers from the previous week’s episode and marks it out as the lowest rated Friday night event for the promotion so far this season, though it’s still higher than the season premiere which aired on a Saturday night to just 437,000 viewers.

Unfortunately this ends a period of relative stability for the promotion which saw them consistently produce between 649,00 – 700,000 viewers.

The peak rating was also significantly lower, coming in at 729,000 as compared to 958,000 viewers the week before.

As for the reason – perhaps the fact that it wasn’t the strongest card they’ve had so far this season, focusing on the featherweight semi-finals with no tournament finals, title fights or ex-UFC stars elsewhere on the card resulted in less interest in the show.

A high-rating MLB game  on another channel was amongst the competition on the night and that could also have had a significant impact on the viewership, so hopefully this is just a temporary blip rather than sign of things to come.
