Bellator 117 Results

Bellator 117 took place last night with Douglas Lima becoming their new welterweight champion by defeating Rick Hawn.

Lima put on a kicking clinic here, repeatedly dropping Hawn with hard kicks to his left leg and then punishing him with punches while stood over him.

In the second round with the same pattern continuing the referee turned to Hawn’s corner to see if they were willing to waive the fight off, and that’s just what they did, giving Lima the TKO victory with 3.19mins of the second round gone.

Earlier, Patricky ‘Pitbull’ Freire booked his spot in the latest Bellator lightweight final with a TKO stoppage in the second round against Derek Campos, dropping him twice, the second time with a nice knee followed by a hard right hand, then moving to mount, taking his back and landing ground and pound for the finish.

Joining him in the final will be Marcin Held who tapped out Derek Anderson with a very tight triangle choke submission mid-way through the second round.
