Bellator 128 Results

Joe Warren unified Bellator’s bantamweight titles last night after claiming a unanimous decision victory against Eduardo Dantas in the main event of Bellator 128 on Spike TV.

Warren had been seen as the underdog heading into the fight, but he showed grit and determination with a wrestling orientated gameplan. Dantas was able to stuff some, but not all of his opponent’s frequent takedown attempts, and the efforts to do so diminished his focus on his own striking game which would prove costly when it came to the judges scorecards after five rounds of fighting.

In the end Warren would go on to get the nod unanimously from all three judges (48-47 x3) and becomes the first Bellator fighter to have won belts in two different weight classes (bantamweight & featherweight).

In the co-main event Michael Page’s entertaining striking style was somewhat stifled by Nah-Shon Burrell’s repeated attempts to clinch up and grinding out a win. Unfortunately that led to an underwhelming encounter, but one that Page was still able to emerge victorious from with his better offensive output leading him to a unanimous decision victory (30-27 x3).

Elsewhere on the main card Alexander Sarnavskiy made short work of Dakota Cochrane, stopping him with a rear-naked choke mid-way through the first round after being hurt with a flying knee strike.

Opening up the main card Emiliano Sordi also enjoyed a swift finish in his Bellator debut, applying a guillotine choke finish against former UFC fighter Bubba McDaniel in just 58 seconds.
