Last night’s Bellator 36 event saw the season four lightweight tournament quarter-finals get underway.

Two of the favorites, Patricy ‘Pitbull’ Freire and Toby Imada successfully negotiated their way to the semi-finals, though it took Freire until the closing stages of his fight with the veteran Rob McCullogh to finally put him away by TKO.

Elsewhere up and comer Michael Chandler notched up the sixth consecutive win of his to head into the last four, while Lloyd Woodward defeated Carey Vanier by TKO after a ground and pound assault to seal his place in the semi’s.

Toby Imada defeated Josh Shockley via submission (armbar) at 1:19 of Round 1.

Lloyd Woodard defeated Carey Vanier via TKO (strikes) at 0:46 of Round 2.

Michael Chandler defeated Marcin Held via submission (arm triangle) at 3:56 of Round 1.
