Bellator 37 Ratings on MTV2 Fall To 173,000 Viewers

After a promising start to their fourth season on MTV2, the ratings for this past weekend’s Bellator 37 event took a noticeable dip.

An average of 173,000 viewers tuned into the third event in the season, which featured the quarter finals of their new featherweight tournament. That’s down 63,000 from the previous week, and 27,000 from the season premiere.

Lower ratings had been predicted due to the fact that the event was going up against UFC 128, though MTV2 had moved their programming forward to 7pm ET to ensure it wouldn’t clash with either the UFC’s prelim show on Spike TV at 9pm ET or the resulting PPV main card at 10pm.

Despite that the event still faced competition half-way through it’s timeslot from further UFC 128 prelims airing live on Facebook, in addition to an NCAA Basketball tournament.
