Bellator unleashed the biggest event of their season four calender so far last night in Stockton, California.
Headlining the show was Bellator’s 155lb champion Eddie Alvarez and he showed once again why he’s considered one of the top 10 lightweights in the world with a dominant decision win against Pat Curran over five rounds.
Meanwhile in a welterweight semi-final Rick Hawn squeezed past former champ Lyman Good to reach the final after a closely fought encounter that ended in a split decision.
Patricky ‘Pitbull’ Freire again impressed as he claimed a spot in the lightweight final with a TKO finish in the opening round of his fight with Toby Imada, landing a flying knee that rocked him and following up with strikes to earn the stoppage.
In the opening bout of the main card former UFC fighter Ben ‘Killa-B’ Saunders used his trademark muay thai clinch, knees and elbows to good effect to secure a third round TKO win over Matt Lee, leaving him bloodied in the opening round and continuing with more of the same until the doctors finally put an end to his misery early in the third.
