Bellator 53 once again produced some exciting fights and finishes on Saturday night, but sadly the ratings hit rock bottom with an all-time low average of just 103,000 tuning into the live broadcast on MTV2.

In what to my recollection could well be a first the immediate replay actually bested the live showing by producing 120,000 viewers.

This continues the trend of erratic ratings for Bellator on the station, with last weekend’s event actually having been the fourth highest rated in the promotion’s run on MTV2 with 269,000 viewers tuning in.

The reason for this Saturday’s dramatic dip is likely to been due to the UFC 136, which included two title fights, airing at the same time on pay-per-view.
