Bellator season 6 got underway this evening and we’ve got all the results for you below.
The show saw Bellator crown a new featherweight champion after Pat Curran knocked out Joe Warren in brutal fashion early in the third round of their title fight.
Curran had already hurt Warren with a head kick in the first round, and he absolutely went to town on him in the third, throwing everything but the kitchen sink at him, including some well placed knees and a series of uppercuts and punches straight down the pipe.
Really it was only the cage that was keeping Warren standing and the ref should have done him a favor and called a halt to the fight there and then as he was out of it, but instead he continued to take further unnecessary punishment before finally slumping the ground unconscious.
Warren had started his Bellator career with five straight wins, but it’s all starting to unravel for him now as this defeat comes off the back of another KO loss in the final of the bantamweight tournament last year.
Curran’s now the main man though with four straight wins, 7-1 overall in his Bellator career.
