Bellator 67 took place last night with lightweight champion Michael Chandler maintaining his impressive run of form in the main event by TKO’ing Akhiro Gono in just 56 seconds.

Chandler clearly had the better of Gono in the striking department from the opening bell, forcing him to hit reverse gear before being caught with a few right hands that sent him to the floor and finishing off with some ground and pound strikes.

After the event former UFC fighter Gono, who’s now lost his last three fights, announced his retirement from the sport at the age of 37.

Meanwhile in the only tournament bout of the evening Bryan Baker progressed to the season 6 middleweight final after defeating another ex-UFC fighter Ben Saunders over three rounds.

Elsewhere on the main card Damian Grabowski and Ryan Ford also picked up wins in non-tournament bouts.
