Last night’s Bellator 68 event brought to a conclusion season six’s featherweight tournament with a fight between Daniel Straus and Marlon Sandro.
The final would go the distance, but over the piece it was Straus that controlled the majority of the action and he secured a unanimous decision victory (30-27 x2, 29-28) which installs him as the 145lb division’s No.1 contender and will see him face the winner of Pat Curran Vs Patricky Freire for the belt at a later date.
In the night’s other major tournament bout, Marcos Galvao sealed his place in the bantamweight final with a unanimous decision win over Travis Marx (29-28 x3) after getting the better of the action in a fight that was fought largely on the feet.
Elsewhere, Marcin Held wasted no time grabbing onto a heel hook against Derrick Kennington in their bout, forcing a tap in just 2.08mins, while Marius Zaromskis was handed a somewhat unsatisfactory victory against Waachiim Spiritwolf when doctor’s deemed that his opponent couldn’t continue at the end of the second round due to a cut above his eye.
