Bellator 75 drew an average of 145,000 viewers on MTV2 this past Friday night, down 45,000 viewers from the season premiere last week.

While Bellator’s audience generally tends to vary from week to week, this week’s lower figure can perhaps most easily be explained by the fact that it was going up against ‘UFC On FX 5’ which pulled in 1.1 million viewers.

Still, Bellator’s show comfortably outdrew the ‘UFC On FX 5 Prelims’ on Fuel TV which could only pull in 44,000 viewers, the lowest so far for the FX series and a massive drop of 116,000 viewers from ‘UFC On FX 4’s’ preliminary coverage.

Arguably, Bellator’s ratings aren’t a major issue this season given that they are more likely to be judged on how they perform when they make the transition to Spike TV in 2013.

On the other hand the UFC would ideally like to be continuing to build their audience base over on the Fuel TV given how much of their programming currently resides there.
