Bellator’s second live show on Spike TV this past Thursday night drew an average of 812,000 viewers.

That’s down 126,000 viewers from the season eight premiere last week, though when compared to the sub-200,000 average audience’s they were airing to on MTV2 for most of last season it’s still a strong number.

A slight dip in ratings was always going to be on the cards, the question now is whether they can hold this line or if the ratings will continue to drop in the coming weeks.

Bellator fielded welterweight champion Ben Askren and Muhammad ‘King Mo’ Lawal – perhaps their biggest star – on Thursday night, but next weeks event has weaker line-up in terms of fighter recognition so it is certainly possible that the numbers could fall again.
