Bellator’s ‘Fight Master’ reality show drew an average of 441,000 viewers for it’s fifth episode this week on Spike TV.

That’s down 64,000 from the previous week and is the second lowest rated episode of the season so far.

So, unfortunately the show has now essentially dropped back to square one, just 9,000 viewers higher than the dismal rating they racked up for their debut episode.

‘Fight Master’ had showed growth in episodes two and three, reaching as high as 676,000 viewers – still below expectations prior to the show’s launch, but at least offering a glimour of hope – but they’ve not been able to maintain that.

If this is a trend that continues then there’s bound to be some level of uncertainty over the possibility of future seasons of the show. Spike TV had a hugely successful run with ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ reality show, but it’s perhaps turned out to be trickier than expected for them to replicate anyhwere close to that level of success thsi time around.

The good news is that there’s a possibility of a rise in viewers next week as the next episode will be proceeded by a ‘Bellator Summer Series’ live event.

It should be stressed that there was also a live event prior to the debut episode and it didn’t help the ratings at all, but due to the widely reported rumor that Bellator are set to unveil details of a blockbuster end-of-year pay-per-view show headlined by Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson and boxer Roy Jones Jr during the broadcast, then there’s a good chance there’ll be more people tuning in than usual.

The hope is that some of them will then stick around for the ‘Fight Master’ episode immediately afterwards, and that some of those new viewers like what they see enough to tune in again in the coming weeks.
