Former WEC lightweight champion Ben Henderson’s UFC career didn’t get off to the best of starts yesterday when he weighed in a half pound over the 156lb limit for his fight with Mark Bocek at UFC 129 this evening.

That came as something of a surprise as Henderson has always been a professional throughout his WEC career and has never had issues with weight in the past.

In a video blog covering the day of the weigh-ins Henderson has a chance to explain exactly what happened.

“Just got done with weigh-ins. I was a half over…but I wasn’t really a half, it was like barely like not dropping! I would say more like a quarter, less than a quarter perhaps. A very nice gentleman from the Canadian commission would not allow me to continue so he made me run it off, which is fine, no big deal. It took about 10 minutes to get it off.”
