After being soundly beaten by Nick Diaz at the weekend UFC superstar BJ Penn declared that we had probably seen him for the last time in the Octagon, but many fans have questioned whether he may change his mind in the cold light of day.

On Monday Penn posted a brief note on his own website that indicated that there is still a chance ‘The Prodigy’ will return at some stage in the future.

“I want to thank all the fans for their love and support. I have decided to take some time off to enjoy life, train and teach. I will keep the you guys posted with what’s next.”

At the age of 32 Penn still has time on his hands, and given his natural fighting instincts I do believe that we haven’t seen the last of him competing yet.
