Days after his second loss to Frankie Edgar former lightweight champion BJ Penn claimed that he wanted to fight again as soon as possible, and it seems he’s staying true to his word.

“Dana White texted me the last couple of days, and it looks like I’m probably going to be back in the ring in November sometime,” Penn says in a new video blog posted on his website.

“Dana’s trying to put the fight together, but that’s what I know as of right now, so I’ll keep you guys posted. This is going to be good.”

A November fight appears to place Penn on either the UFC 122 event in Germany on the 13th, or UFC 123 in Michigan on the 20th.

Belfort Vs Okami is already set as the headliner for the German event and the UFC don’t tend to stack their free Spike TV cards too often, so UFC 123 looks the more likely destination.

The question now is, who will he face?

Earlier this week it was suggested that George Sotiropoulos could be his opponent, but he’s now been penciled in to face Joe Lauzon at the same event.

Old foe Takanori Gomi seemed an obvious choice, but according to a text from Clay Guida yesterday he’s getting ready to face someone with, “ALOT of power in his hands,” which many have interpreted to mean that it will be he who faces the Japanese KO specialist.

So it’s not immediately obvious who he will face. My best guess at this stage would be Nate Diaz who has been impressing recently at welterweight, but is champing at the bit to fight against a major contender at 155lbs.
