Former WWE wrestler turned MMA fighter Bobby Lashley will return to the cage at Titan FC 8 on March 25th.
Lashley will take on James Jack (6-2-1) at the event, which will also feature former UFC fighter Phil Baroni taking on Nick Nolte.
This will be the first time Lashley has fought since losing to Chad Griggs in August of last year. Following that unexpected loss there were rumors that the 34 year-old may be set to back his bags and return to pro-wrestling, but that appears not to be the case.
At this stage it’s unclear what Lashley’s status is with the Strikeforce promotion, but it may well be that they’ve given him permission to fight elsewhere first before returning there.
To my mind that makes sense. Lashley clearly needs more experience under his belt, and there’s no point in him taking up space on Strikeforce’s main cards against unheralded opponents in order to get that. It’s better to let him get some fights elsewhere, and then return to the big stage when he’s ready to take on better quality opponents.
