UFC light-heavyweight fighter Brandon Vera will get another chance to prove himself in the promotion when he faces Eliot ‘The Fire’ Marshall at UFC 137 on October 29th.

Vera had originally been cut from the UFC’s roster following his decision loss to Thiago Silva at UFC 125 on New Years Day, but he has since been recalled after Silva was found to have faked a pre-fight urine test which resulted in him being suspended and the fight being ruled a ‘No Contest’.

That still leaves Vera with a record of 0-2-1 in his last three fights however so he’ll need to have his hand raised at UFC 137 in order to ensure he isn’t once again being shown the exit door.

The same can be said of Marshall who was released from the UFC for the first time back in March of 2010 despite a relatively solid 3-1 record.  He made a return to the fold almost exactly a year later however after being drafted in as a late replacement to fight Luiz Cane at UFC 128.

Marshall would go on to lose to the Brazilian by TKO early in the first round, but due to the fact that he stepped in at short notice he’ll get another chance to prove himself here.

Meanwhile it’s also emerged that lightweight contenders Dennis Siver and Sam Stout will also meet at UFC 137.

Siver has forged a four-fight winning streak over the past year and a win over Stout who’s coming off a stunning KO win over Yves Edwards last month would take him a step closer to title contention at 155lbs.
