Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar will make a quick return to the octagon as the MMAfighting website confirms that he’s set to fight No.1 contender Cain Velasquez at UFC 121 in October.
Reports suggest that the PPV show is set to take place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California on October 23rd, just one week after UFC 120: Bisping Vs Akiyama takes place in London, England.
This appears to be good news for all concerned, particularly Velasquez who has been waiting on the sidelines since February for his chance to fight for the belt.
Dana White will no doubt be happy that the UFC’s no.1 draw, who’s victory at last weekend’s UFC 116 is believed to have been the second most watched pay-per-view event in their history, estimated at 1.15-1.25 million sales.
Another fight on the horizon seems to suit Lesnar as well as he admitted to ESPN at the start of the week that he was already keen to get back into training just days after his successful title defense.
