Dana White indicated after Brock Lesnar’s victory over Shane Carwin at UFC 116 that he was aiming at a quick return to action for his heavyweight champion against current No.1 contender Cain Velasquez.

Just two days after the event The Dayton Daily News is now reporting that the fight could in fact be set to headline the UFC 119 show in Indianapolis on September 25th.

Despite taking a lot of damage in the first round of his latest title defense, Lesnar was found to have no major injuries in his post-fight check-up, and UFC officials are set to discuss the September date with his team later this week.

The good news for the promotion is that it appears that the fighter himself is also keen for a quick return to action.

“I’m excited to get back in the octagon,” Lesnar told ESPN’s Sportcenter today.  “This morning I feel great and I actually want to get back into the gym and get back at it.”
