Bellator’s ‘Fight Master’ reality show gets underway on June 19th on Spike TV and the cast of fighters has just been announced for it.
The most notable name on the list is Joe ‘Diesel’ Riggs, a true veteran of the sport who’s fought for the likes of the UFC, WEC, Strikeforce and indeed Bellator, though his only fight their ended with a KO loss.
The name recognition slides quickly downhill after that though. Marcus Aurelio may ring a bell with some of you, but it turns out this isn’t the former PRIDE and UFC fighter, but rather another Brazilian sharing the same name.
There are a few others – Chris Lozano’s fought for Bellator a number of times, though his record for the promotion only amounts to 2-3 while Darryl Cobb has also dabbled in the likes of Bellator and Strikeforce, but is on a five fight losing streak and Mike Bronzoulis is a seasoned veteran who’s fought for Strikeforce, Legacy FC and Shark Fights.
Of course part of the concept of a show like this is to bring forth new talent under the tutelage of the season coaches Randy Couture, Frank Shamrock, Greg Jackson and Joe Warren, so it’ll be interesting to see what they can do with this batch of fighters.
