Two interested observers during Anderson Silva’s latest jaw-dropping victory at UFC 134: Rio last night were middleweight contenders Chael Sonnen and Michael Bisping who both have aspirations to meet the current champion in 2012.
After his spectacular showing both men took to Twitter to voice their opinions on the man who has surely now confirmed his status as the pound-for-pound best fighter in the sport.
…Apparently Sonnen doesn’t think so however.
“We call Andy “champ” like we call developmentally disabled animals “champ.” Good boy, Andy, good boy!” Sonnen stated in typically troll-like fashion.
Bisping on the other hand was a little more charitable.
“Anderson does it again!!!!” wrote immediately after the fight before following up with, “Anderson did great, but I would give him a way better fight than that. No disrespect to Yushin.”
Bisping is set to appear on TV screens as a coach on TUF season 14 opposite Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller next month and the two will then fight in November with the winner certain to be in the title mix at 185lbs.
Meanwhile Sonnen takes on Brian Stann in October and a win there is expected to put him in pole position to face the champion early next year.
