The full cast of FX’s ‘The Ultimate Fight 16’ has been revealed today, showcasing 32 welterweight fighters who’ll be coached over the course of the season by UFC heavyweight stars Shane Carwin and Roy Nelson.
Out of the fighters listed the name that jumps out to me first is Bristol Marunde since he, somewhat out-of-the-blue, was given a fairly high profile fight against Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza at a Strikeforce show earlier this year. He survived until the third round against the former champ before being submitted.
A few of the other fighters have fought for the likes of Bellator or on the undercard of Strikeforce shows, while others are still relatively wet behind the ears.
Unlike last season’s ‘TUF: Live’ format, TUF 16 will be back to being pre-taped and will start with a two-hour show featuring the initial elimination round on September 14th on FX.
