One fighter who won’t be part of the WEC’s merger with the UFC is Chris Horodecki who found himself cut from the promotion following the WEC’s final event earlier this month.

Horodecki had suffered a second round submission loss to Donald Cerrone at WEC 53, leaving his record for the promotion at 2-2, and 16-3 for the his career overall.

Reacting to the news Hordecki told MMAJunkie, “One door closes and another one opens.  I’ll be back sooner than later.”

That’s certainly a possibility.  Still just 23 years old, Horodecki has proven himself to be a decent stand-up fighter, but his ground game still leaves something to be desired and indicated that he was going to struggle to make headway in the UFC’s 155lb weight class.
