In the octagon Chris Leben had a remarkable 2010, from being close to being released at the beginning of the year to producing a three fight winning streak by the end of it.

‘The Crippler’ wasn’t able to keep the momentum going into 2011 however, suffering a tough TKO loss to Brian Stann in the co-main event of last night’s UFC 125 show.

Backstage after the fight a disappointed Leben remained humble, praising his opponent for his performance while admitting that he himself had not performed to the best of his abilities.

“I give my opponent all the credit in the world. First off he did a fantastic job, but I was not on today, period. And I did some things good, you know, some things I did bad, and my opponent, well he did an excellent job. My hats off to him,” Leben told UFC.com.

  1. Leben – try cutting weight further out. This is the worst I have ever seen him perform. FLAT & NO heart!

  2. I’ve read from a source close to him that he was unwell leading up to UFC 125 – had a fever and was throwing up in the locker room before the fight, etc.

Aside from that I think Leben just tried to rely too much on his chin which was a mistake against a heavy-hitter like Stann.

  3. I hate that he lost he is my favorite fighter….Strick you say he has no heart but he didn’t give up after getting dropped he kept getting up till he couldn’t…this guy is a warrior and i hate how people wanna talk trash about him when he is down.

  4. I must admit I’d never question Leben’s heart, he’s fought on when many other fighters would have been looking for a way out or been face down on the canvas many times in his career.
